Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
उत्पत्य चैनं सहसा तलेनोरस्यताडयत् ।
स तेनाभिहतः कोपात् प्रमुमोहाचलोपमः ॥६-६७-४९॥
utpatya cainaṃ sahasā talenorasyatāḍayat |
sa tenābhihataḥ kopāt pramumohācalopamaḥ ॥6-67-49॥
Translation
Suddenly leaping up, he (Angada) struck Kumbhakarna on the chest with his palm. Hit by that blow, the mountain-like demon fainted from pain/fury.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अचानक उछलकर उन्होंने (अंगद ने) कुम्भकर्ण की छाती पर हथेली से प्रहार किया। उस चोट से पर्वत के समान वह राक्षस क्रोध के कारण (या पीड़ा से) मूर्छित सा हो गया।
English Commentary
This strike by Angada is a supreme example of close-quarter combat. The blow delivered with the 'Tala' (palm) was so precise and powerful that even a giant like Kumbhakarna entered a state of 'Pramumoha' (fainting). This reveals the divine portion of power Angada inherited from his father, Vali.

अंगद का यह प्रहार 'मल्ल-युद्ध' का श्रेष्ठ उदाहरण है। 'तलेन' (हथेली से) किया गया प्रहार इतना सटीक और बलशाली था कि कुम्भकर्ण जैसा विशाल राक्षस भी 'प्रमुमोह' (मूर्छित होना) की स्थिति में आ गया। यह अंगद के उस दिव्य अंश को प्रकट करता है जो उसे अपने पिता बालि से प्राप्त हुआ था।
