स कुम्भकर्णः सङ्क्रुद्धो गदामुद्यम्य वीर्यवान् ।
अर्दयन्सुमहाकायः समन्ताद्व्यक्षिपद्रिपून् ॥६-६७-५॥
sa kumbhakarṇaḥ saṅkruddho gadāmudyamya vīryavān |
ardayansumahākāyaḥ samantādvyakṣipadripūn ॥6-67-5॥
Translation
Then that exceedingly massive and valiant Kumbhakarna, filled with rage, raised his mace and began to strike and hurl his enemies in all directions.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब उस अत्यंत विशालकाय और वीर्यवान कुम्भकर्ण ने क्रोध में भरकर गदा उठाई और शत्रुओं को पीड़ित करते हुए सब ओर फेंकना आरम्भ कर दिया।
English Commentary
Kumbhakarna's counter-attack is cataclysmic. Even the collective assault of the Vanaras falters before his mace. The word 'Vyakshipat' illustrates his gargantuan power, as he tosses the Vanaras like toys. Kumbhakarna's presence here embodies the overwhelming force of Adharma, which appears nearly impossible to withstand.

कुम्भकर्ण का प्रतिघात प्रलयंकारी है। उसकी गदा के सामने वानरों का सामूहिक आक्रमण भी फीका पड़ने लगा। 'व्यक्षिपत्' शब्द का प्रयोग उसकी विशाल शक्ति को दर्शाता है, जहाँ वह वानरों को खिलौनों की भांति हवा में उछाल रहा है। यहाँ कुम्भकर्ण का 'भीम' स्वरूप उसके विनाशकारी स्वभाव को सिद्ध करता है, जो अधर्म की उस प्रचंड शक्ति का प्रतीक है जिसे रोकना दुष्कर है।
