षोडशाष्टौ च दश च विंशत्त्रिंशत्तथैव च ।
परिक्षिप्य च बाहुभ्यां खादन्विपरिधावति ॥६-६७-७॥
ṣoḍaśāṣṭau ca daśa ca viṃśattriṃśattathaiva ca |
parikṣipya ca bāhubhyāṃ khādanviparidhāvati ॥6-67-7॥
Translation
Seizing sixteen, eight, ten, twenty, and thirty Vanaras at once in his arms, Kumbhakarna ran about devouring them.

वह कुम्भकर्ण सोलह, आठ, दस, बीस और तीस वानरों को एक साथ अपनी भुजाओं में जकड़कर उन्हें खाता हुआ सब ओर दौड़ रहा था।
English Commentary
Kumbhakarna's demonic nature reaches its peak here. He is not merely fighting; he is consuming the Vanaras. Seizing dozens of warriors in his embrace to devour them reflects his inhuman scale and insatiable hunger. This sight is intended to reinject terror into the Vanara army, serving as a gruesome depiction of Tamasic (dark) energy.

कुम्भकर्ण का दानवीय रूप यहाँ अपनी पराकाष्ठा पर है। वह केवल युद्ध नहीं कर रहा, बल्कि वानरों का भक्षण कर रहा है। 'बाहुभ्यां परिक्षिप्य' अर्थात भुजाओं में समेटकर खाना उसकी अमानवीय विशालता और भूख को दर्शाता है। यह दृश्य वानर सेना के मन में पुन: भारी आतंक उत्पन्न करने वाला है। राक्षसी माया और तामसिक प्रवृति का यह सबसे वीभत्स चित्रण है।
