हनुमान्श्चिन्तयामास मतिमान् मारुतात्मजः ।
एवं गृहीते सुग्रीवे किं कर्तव्यं मया भवेत् ॥६-६७-७४॥
hanumānścintayāmāsa matimān mārutātmajaḥ |
evaṃ gṛhīte sugrīve kiṃ kartavyaṃ mayā bhavet ॥6-67-74॥
Translation
The wise Hanuman, son of the Wind-god, pondered: 'With Sugriva thus captured, what should be my duty now?'
हिंदी अनुवाद
बुद्धिमान पवनपुत्र हनुमान जी ने विचार किया कि सुग्रीव के इस प्रकार पकड़े जाने पर अब मेरा क्या कर्तव्य होना चाहिए।
English Commentary
Shri Hanuman is addressed as 'Matiman' (wise). His greatness lies in His ability to deliberate rather than panic during a crisis. He views Himself as both the protector and the servant of Sugriva. This self-reflection highlights His sense of duty and His devotion to the cause of Shri Rama. He is carefully planning His next move while weighing the consequences of the current situation.

श्री हनुमान जी को यहाँ 'मतिमान्' (बुद्धिमान) कहा गया है। संकट के समय घबराने के स्थान पर विचार करना ही उनकी विशेषता है। वे स्वयं को सुग्रीव के रक्षक और सेवक के रूप में देख रहे हैं। उनका यह आत्म-मंथन उनके कर्तव्यबोध और श्री राम के प्रति उनके समर्पण को दर्शाता है। वे स्थिति की गम्भीरता को समझते हुए उचित कदम उठाने की योजना बना रहे हैं।
