स कुम्भकर्णोऽथ विवेश लङ्कां स्फुरन्तमादाय महाकपिं तम् ।
विमानचर्यागृहगोपुरस्थैः पुष्पाग्रवर्षैरवकीर्यमाणः ॥६-६७-८३॥
sa kumbhakarṇo'tha viveśa laṅkāṃ sphurantamādāya mahākapiṃ tam |
vimānacaryāgṛhagopurasthaiḥ puṣpāgravarsairavakīryamāṇaḥ ॥6-67-83॥
Translation
That Kumbhakarna then entered Lanka carrying the twitching great monkey (Sugriva). He was showered with flowers by people stationed on celestial cars, streets, houses, and gate-towers.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह कुम्भकर्ण उन तड़पते हुए महाकपि (सुग्रीव) को लेकर लंका में प्रविष्ट हुआ। महलों, गलियों, घरों और द्वारों पर खड़े राक्षसों ने उस पर फूलों की वर्षा की।
English Commentary
Kumbhakarna enters Lanka as a conquering hero. For the Rakshasas, this was a moment of grand celebration. The 'Pushpagra-varshaih' (shower of flowers) was a tribute to his perceived victory. Sugriva is described as 'Sphurantam' (twitching), signaling the first signs of His return to consciousness. This scene juxtaposes Lanka's false pride with the imminent awakening of the captive King.

कुम्भकर्ण का लंका में प्रवेश एक विजेता के रूप में हुआ। राक्षसों के लिए यह उत्सव का विषय था। 'पुष्पाग्रवर्षैः' (फूलों की वर्षा) उसकी सफलता का सम्मान था। सुग्रीव को 'स्फुरन्तम्' (तड़पते हुए) कहा गया है, जो उनकी मूर्च्छा टूटने के आरम्भिक लक्षण हैं। यह दृश्य लंका के मिथ्या अभिमान और सुग्रीव की चेतना के लौटने का संधि-स्थल है।
