वृक्षाद्रिहस्ता हरयस्तस्थुः सङ्ग्राममूर्धनि ।
ततः पर्वतमुत्पाट्य द्विविदः प्लवगर्षभः ॥६-६७-९॥
vṛkṣādrihastā harayastasthuḥ saṅgrāmamūrdhani |
tataḥ parvatamutpāṭya dvividaḥ plavagarṣabhaḥ ॥6-67-9॥
Translation
With trees and mountains in their hands, the Vanaras stood at the front of the battle. Then Dvivida, the foremost among monkeys, uprooted a mountain.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हाथों में वृक्ष और पर्वत लिए हुए वे वानर युद्ध के अग्रभाग में खड़े हो गए। तब वानरों में श्रेष्ठ द्विविद ने एक पर्वत उखाड़ लिया।
English Commentary
Dvivida is one of the primary champions of the Vanara army. His stepping forward is an attempt to boost the flagging spirits of the troops. The title 'Plavagarshabhah' honors his leadership and strength. He realizes that ordinary strikes are futile against Kumbhakarna, hence he decides to use an entire mountain as a weapon.

द्विविद वानर सेना के प्रमुख महारथियों में से एक हैं। उनका आगे आना सेना के गिरते मनोबल को उठाने का प्रयास है। 'प्लवगर्षभः' संबोधन उनकी नेतृत्व क्षमता और शक्ति का सम्मान है। वे जानते हैं कि कुम्भकर्ण जैसे शत्रु पर साधारण प्रहार निष्फल होंगे, इसलिए वे संपूर्ण पर्वत का उपयोग शस्त्र के रूप में करने का निश्चय करते हैं।
