अमर्षाच्छोणितोद्गारी शुशुभे रावणावरजः ।
नीलाञ्जनचयप्रख्यः ससन्ध्य इव तोयदः ॥६-६७-९२॥
amarṣācchoṇitodgārī śuśubhe rāvaṇāvarajaḥ |
nīlāñjanacayaprakhyaḥ sasandhya iva toyadaḥ ॥6-67-92॥
Translation
Vomiting blood due to indignation, the younger brother of Ravana (Kumbhakarna), who resembled a heap of black collyrium, looked like a rain-cloud at twilight.
हिंदी अनुवाद
क्रोध के कारण रक्त उगलते हुए रावण के अनुज (कुम्भकर्ण), जो काजल के ढेर के समान काले थे, संध्याकालीन बादलों के समान सुशोभित हो रहे थे।
English Commentary
The combination of his dark body and red blood is compared to the clouds at sunset (dark clouds with a crimson glow). This is a brilliant poetic simile. The word 'Amarshat' (due to indignation) reflects his internal turmoil. Kumbhakarna's form here is as terrifying and radiant as the clouds that herald the onset of annihilation.

यहाँ काले शरीर और लाल रक्त के मेल की तुलना संध्याकालीन बादलों (श्याम मेघ और लालिमा) से की गई है। यह एक अद्भुत काव्य उपमा है। 'अमर्षात्' (क्रोधवश) शब्द उसके आंतरिक क्षोभ को दर्शाता है। कुम्भकर्ण का यह रूप प्रलय के आने की सूचना देने वाले बादलों जैसा भयानक और तेजस्वी है।
