संप्रस्रवंस्तदा मेदः शोणितं च महाबलः ।
वध्यमानो नगेन्द्रैर्भक्षयामास वानरान् ॥६-६७-९८॥
saṃprasravaṃstadā medaḥ śoṇitaṃ ca mahābalaḥ |
vadhyamāno nagendrairbhakṣayāmāsa vānarān ॥6-67-98॥
Translation
Fat and blood were flowing from his body; yet, even while being struck with large mountains by the monkeys, that mighty one continued to devour the Vanaras.

उसके शरीर से चर्बी और रक्त बह रहे थे, फिर भी वह महाबली वानरों द्वारा पर्वतों से मारे जाने पर भी उन्हें खाता ही रहा।
English Commentary
This verse portrays Kumbhakarna's extraordinary endurance and his loathsome state. The flowing of fat and blood indicates severe injuries, yet his rampage did not cease. Oblivious to pain, he was focused only on satiating his demonic hunger. This illustrates the inertia of unrighteousness that refuses to abandon its base instincts even at the threshold of destruction.

यह श्लोक कुम्भकर्ण की असाधारण सहनशक्ति और उसकी घृणित अवस्था का चित्रण करता है। 'मेदः' और 'शोणितम्' का बहना उसकी गम्भीर चोटों का संकेत है, किन्तु उसका संहार नहीं रुका। वह पीड़ा से बेखबर केवल अपनी राक्षसी भूख को शांत करने में लगा था। यह अधर्म की उस जड़ता को दर्शाता है जो विनाश के द्वार पर खड़ी होकर भी अपनी प्रवृत्तियाँ नहीं छोड़ती।
