आरोक्ष्यन्ति हि दुर्गाणि लङ्काद्वाराणि सर्वशः ।
राज्येन नास्ति मे कार्यं किं करिष्यामि सीतया ॥६-६८-१७॥
ārokṣyanti hi durgāṇi laṅkādvārāṇi sarvaśaḥ |
rājyena nāsti me kāryaṃ kiṃ kariṣyāmi sītayā ॥6-68-17॥
Translation
...will indeed climb/storm the inaccessible gates of Lanka from all sides. I have no use for the kingdom. What shall I do with Sita?
हिंदी अनुवाद
...लंका के दुर्गम द्वारों पर सब ओर से चढ़ आएंगे। (अब) मुझे राज्य से कोई प्रयोजन (काम) नहीं है। मैं सीता को लेकर क्या करूँगा?
English Commentary
Total despair creates a moment of clarity. Ravana realizes the tactical reality: the gates will be breached. More importantly, he questions the very purpose of the war. 'What shall I do with Sita?' This line reveals that his obsession with Sita pales in comparison to the loss of his brother. The prize of the war has lost its value.

यह रावण के वैराग्य और हताशा का क्षण है। उसे आभास हो गया है कि लंका अब सुरक्षित नहीं है। वह कहता है—'किं करिष्यामि सीतया' (मैं सीता का क्या करूँगा?)। जिस सीता के लिए उसने यह युद्ध मोला लिया, भाई के जाने के बाद वह उसे व्यर्थ लगने लगी। यह मोहभंग की स्थिति है।
