प्रतपित्वा मुहूर्तं च प्रशान्तो राम तेजसा ।
कायेनार्धप्रविष्टेन समुद्रं भीमदर्शनम् ॥६-६८-३॥
pratapitvā muhūrtaṃ ca praśānto rāmatejasā |
kāyenārdhapraviṣṭena samudraṃ bhīmadarśanam ॥6-68-3॥
Translation
...having scorched (the enemies) for a while, he has been silenced/pacified by Shri Rama's energy. With half his body entered into the terrible-looking ocean...
हिंदी अनुवाद
...वे कुछ देर तक (शत्रुओं को) संताप देकर श्री राम के तेज से शांत हो गए हैं। उनका आधा (विशाल) शरीर भयानक दिखने वाले समुद्र में प्रविष्ट हो गया है।
English Commentary
The outcome is definitive: the raging fire of Kumbhakarna has been 'prashantah' (extinguished/pacified) by Shri Rama's prowess. The description of his body falling halfway into the ocean underscores his colossal size ('Viswaroopa' proportions). It serves to magnify the feat of Shri Rama, who managed to fell such a mountain-like adversary.

कुम्भकर्ण का अंत 'रामतेजसा' (श्री राम के तेज/बाणों) से हुआ। 'प्रशान्तः' शब्द का अर्थ है कि उनका सारा क्रोध और जीवन शांत हो गया, जैसे आग बुझ जाती है। उनका शरीर इतना विशाल था कि गिरने पर आधा भाग समुद्र में चला गया। यह दृश्य उनकी दैत्याकार देह और श्री राम की शक्ति के प्रमाण के रूप में प्रस्तुत किया गया है।
