रराज गजमास्थाय सवितेवास्तमूर्धनि ।
हयोत्तमसमायुक्तं सर्वायुधसमाकुलम् ॥६-६९-२२॥
rarāja gajamāsthāya savitevāstamūrdhani |
hayottamasamāyuktaṃ sarvāyudhasamākulam ॥6-69-22॥

'Sun on the setting mountain'—this simile is beautiful but contains a foreshadowing of 'setting' (end). Mahodara's glory is about to set.

'अस्ताचल के शिखर पर सूर्य'—यह उपमा सुंदर है, लेकिन इसमें 'अस्त' (ढलना/अंत) का संकेत भी छिपा है। महोदर का तेज अब अस्त होने वाला है।
