यावदुत्पाटयामासुर्वृक्षान् शैलान् वनौकसः ।
तावत् प्रासहताः पेतुर्वज्रकृत्ता इवाचलाः ॥६-६९-७५॥
yāvadutpāṭayāmāsurvṛkṣān śailān vanaukasaḥ |
tāvat prāsahatāḥ peturvajrakṛttā ivācalāḥ ॥6-69-75॥
Translation
As soon as the forest-dwellers (monkeys) uprooted trees and rocks, they fell, struck by the lance, like mountains severed by the thunderbolt.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जब तक वनवासी (वानर) वृक्षों और पर्वतों को उखाड़ते, तब तक वे प्रास से घायल होकर वैसे गिर पड़ते जैसे वज्र से काटे गए पर्वत।
English Commentary
The monkeys were being killed before they could even lift their weapons (trees and rocks). There is an allusion to the mythological story of Indra cutting the wings of mountains with his Vajra. This simile illustrates the unfailing power of Narantaka's strike.

वानरों के हथियार (वृक्ष और पत्थर) उठाने से पहले ही वे मारे जा रहे थे। यहाँ इन्द्र द्वारा पर्वतों के पंख काटने की पौराणिक कथा का संकेत है (वज्रकृत्ता इवाचलाः)। यह उपमा नरान्तक के प्रहार की अमोघ शक्ति को दर्शाती है।
