मायाश्चाधिगतास्तत्र बहवो राक्षसाधिप ।
निर्जिताः समरे रोषाल्लोकपाला महाबलाः ॥६-७-१२॥
māyāścādhigatāstatra bahavo rākṣasādhipa । nirjitāḥ samare roṣāllokapālā mahābalāḥ ॥6-7-12॥
Translation
O Lord of Rakshasas, many illusionary powers (Mayas) were acquired there. And the mighty Guardians of the Worlds (Lokapalas) were conquered in battle out of rage.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे राक्षसाधिप! वहां (उन युद्धों में) आपने बहुत सी मायाएं (जादुई विद्याएं) भी प्राप्त कीं। और रोषपूर्वक युद्ध में महाबली लोकपालों को जीता।
English Commentary
Acquisition of Maya. Ravana's arsenal includes psychological and magical warfare ('Maya'). This reminds him that he has supernatural advantages over a human prince like Shri Rama.
हिंदी टीका
मायावी शक्ति। रावण केवल योद्धा नहीं, जादूगर (Sorcerer) भी है। उसने दानवों से 'माया' सीखी। लोकपालों (इन्द्र, वरुण, यम, कुबेर) की हार का पुनः उल्लेख उसे आश्वस्त करने के लिए है।
