राजन् परिघशक्त्यृष्टिशूलपट्टससंकुलम् ।
सुमहन्नो बलं कस्माद्विषादं भजते भवान् ॥६-७-३॥
rājan parighaśaktyṛṣṭiśūlapaṭṭasasaṃkulam । sumahanno balaṃ kasmādviṣādaṃ bhajate bhavān ॥6-7-3॥
Translation
O King! Our army is huge and crowded with iron bars, javelins, spears, tridents, and sharp-edged weapons. Why do you resort to despondency?
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे राजन! हमारी सेना परिघ, शक्ति, ऋष्टि, शूल और पट्टस (जैसे भयंकर हथियारों) से भरी हुई है और अत्यंत विशाल है। आप विषाद (दुःख/डर) को क्यों प्राप्त हो रहे हैं?
English Commentary
The ministers appeal to material strength. They list the arsenal—Parigha, Shakti, Rishti, Shula, Pattasa—to boost Ravana's confidence. Their argument is purely quantitative: 'We have big weapons, so we shouldn't be sad.' They fail to address the qualitative threat posed by Shri Rama.

मंत्री रावण को उसके हथियारों ('इन्वेंटरी') की याद दिलाते हैं। वे तर्क देते हैं कि जिसके पास इतने हथियार और सेना ('सुमहत् बलम्') है, उसे डरने ('विषाद') का अधिकार नहीं है। वे रावण के भय को तर्कहीन सिद्ध करने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं।
