गजेन समभिद्रुत्य वालिपुत्रं महोदरः ।
जघानोरसि सङ्क्रुद्धस्तोमरैर्वज्रसन्निभैः ॥६-७०-१०॥
gajena samabhidrutya vāliputraṃ mahodaraḥ |
jaghānorasi saṅkruddhastomarairvajrasannibhaīḥ ॥6-70-10॥
Translation
Rushing forward with his elephant, the enraged Mahodara struck Angada on the chest with 'Tomara' missiles that were like thunderbolts.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हाथी के साथ आगे बढ़कर अत्यंत क्रोधित महोदर ने वज्र के समान शक्तिशाली तोमरों (बरछियों) से वालिपुत्र अंगद की छाती पर प्रहार किया।
English Commentary
Utilizing the height of his elephant, Mahodara strikes Angada's chest. Comparing the 'Tomara' spears to thunderbolts emphasizes their lethal intensity. Angada is enduring a massive assault. This scene depicts the stage of war where a hero must reach the ultimate limit of his endurance.
हिंदी टीका
महोदर ने हाथी की ऊँचाई का लाभ उठाते हुए अंगद जी के मर्म स्थल (छाती) पर प्रहार किया। तोमरों की तुलना वज्र से करना उनकी मारक तीव्रता को पुष्ट करता है। अंगद जी यहाँ भीषण प्रहार झेल रहे हैं। यह दृश्य युद्ध की उस अवस्था को दिखाता है जहाँ वीर को अपनी सहनशक्ति की अंतिम सीमा तक जाना पड़ता है।
