तस्य तेन प्रहारेण नागराजस्य संयुगे ।
पेततुर्लोचने तस्य विननाद स वारणः ॥६-७०-१४॥
tasya tena prahāreṇa nāgarājasya saṃyuge |
petaturloçane tasya vinanāda sa vāraṇaḥ ॥6-70-14॥
Translation
By that blow of Angada in the battle, both eyes of that kingly elephant popped out, and the elephant screamed in agony.
हिंदी अनुवाद
युद्ध में अंगद के उस प्रहार से उस हाथीराज की दोनों आँखें बाहर निकल आईं और वह हाथी भयंकर चिंघाड़ मारता हुआ गिर पड़ा।
English Commentary
The elephant's condition illustrates the sheer violence of Angada's blow. The phrase 'eyes popped out' is a graphic yet realistic depiction of the impact's intensity. The elephant's scream served as a warning to the Rakshasa forces that the Vanara prince had assumed his most fearsome form.

हाथी की दशा अंगद के प्रहार की प्रचंडता को स्पष्ट करती है। 'पेततुर्लोचने' (आँखें गिर जाना) शब्द प्रहार के दबाव और तीव्रता का वीभत्स किन्तु यथार्थ चित्रण है। हाथी की चिंघाड़ (विननाद) राक्षसी सेना के लिए खतरे की घंटी थी कि अब वानर युवराज अपने रौद्र रूप में आ चुके हैं।
