विषाणं चास्य निष्कृष्य वालिपुत्रो महाबलः ।
देवान्तकमभिप्लुत्य ताडयामास संयुगे ॥६-७०-१५॥
viṣāṇaṃ cāsya niṣkṛṣya vāliputro mahābalaḥ |
devāntakamabhiplutya tāḍayāmāsa saṃyuge ॥6-70-15॥
Translation
Uprooting a tusk of that elephant, the mighty Angada leaped toward Devantaka and struck him with it in the battle.
हिंदी अनुवाद
महाबली वालिपुत्र ने उस हाथी का दांत उखाड़ लिया और देवान्तक की ओर उछलकर युद्ध में उसी से उस पर प्रहार किया।
English Commentary
Angada improvised a weapon from the elephant's own tusk ('Vishana'). This is an excellent example of His situational intelligence and the art of using an enemy's own resources against them. The strike on Devantaka was both humiliating and powerful, portraying Angada as a force of nature.
हिंदी टीका
अंगद जी ने हाथी के ही दांत (विषाणम्) को शस्त्र बना लिया। यह उनकी तात्कालिक बुद्धि और शत्रु के साधनों को ही उसके विरुद्ध प्रयोग करने की कला का उत्कृष्ट उदाहरण है। देवान्तक पर किया गया यह प्रहार अत्यंत अपमानजनक और शक्तिशाली था। यहाँ अंगद जी का पराक्रम साक्षात् काल के समान प्रतीत हो रहा है।
