तान्यायताक्षाण्यगसन्निभानि प्रदीप्तवैश्वानरलोचनानि ।
पेतुः शिरांसीन्द्ररिपोर्धरण्यां ज्योतींषि मुक्तानि यथा ऽर्कमार्गात् ॥६-७०-४८॥
tānyāyatākṣāṇyagasannibhāni pradīptavaiśvānaralocanāni |
petuḥ śirāṃsīndraripordharaṇyāṃ jyotīṃṣi muktāni yathā 'rkamārgāt ॥6-70-48॥
Translation
Those heads of that enemy of Indra, which had large eyes, were vast as mountains, and possessed eyes like blazing fire, fell to the earth like stars falling from the celestial path.
हिंदी अनुवाद
बड़ी आँखों वाले, पर्वत के समान विशाल और जलती हुई अग्नि के समान नेत्रों वाले उस इन्द्र-शत्रु के वे सिर पृथ्वी पर वैसे ही गिर पड़े, जैसे आकाश से तारे टूटकर गिरते हैं।
English Commentary
Comparing the falling heads to falling stars ('Jyotish') illustrates their former radiance and their current collapse. The 'fire-like eyes' signify their Tamasic energy, which has now been extinguished. This sight bore witness to the inevitable crumbling of Lanka's power.

सिरों के गिरने की तुलना टूटते तारों (ज्योतिः) से करना उनकी पूर्व की आभा और वर्तमान पतन को चित्रित करता है। 'वैश्वानरलोचनानि' (अग्नि के समान आँखें) उनकी तामसिक ऊर्जा को दर्शाती हैं, जो अब बुझ चुकी थी। यह दृश्य लंका के विनाश की गवाही दे रहा था।
