हेमपट्टपरिक्षिप्तां मांसशोणितफेनिलाम् ।
विराजमानां वपुषा शत्रुशोणितरञ्जिताम् ॥६-७०-५२॥
hemapaṭṭaparikṣiptāṃ māṃsaśoṇitaphenilām |
virājamānāṃ vapuṣā śatruśoṇitarañjitām ॥6-70-52॥
Translation
That mace was encased in golden bands, foamy with flesh and blood, and was shining with its form as it was stained with the blood of enemies.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह गदा सोने की पट्टियों से मढ़ी हुई थी, मांस और रक्त के झाग से युक्त थी और शत्रुओं के रक्त से रंजित होने के कारण चमक रही थी।
English Commentary
The description of the mace is filled with the aesthetic of horror ('Vibhatsa Rasa'). The mention of 'flesh and blood foam' bears witness to the carnage previously committed by this weapon. It is a literal instrument of death. The combination of gold and blood reflects the unholy union of demonic opulence and violence.

गदा का यह वर्णन अत्यंत वीभत्स रस से परिपूर्ण है। 'मांस-शोणित-फेनिलाम्' (मांस और रक्त के झाग वाली) शब्द गदा द्वारा किए गए पिछले संहार की गवाही देते हैं। यह शस्त्र साक्षात् मृत्यु का उपकरण है। सोने और रक्त का मेल आसुरी वैभव और हिंसा के अपवित्र संगम को दर्शाता है।
