तेजसा सम्प्रदीप्ताग्रां रक्तमाल्याविभूषिताम् ।
ऐरावतमहापद्मसार्वभौमभयावहाम् ॥६-७०-५३॥
tejasā saṃpradīptāgrāṃ raktamālyāvibhūṣitām |
airāvatamahāpadmasārvabhaumabhayāvahām ॥6-70-53॥
Translation
Its tip was blazing with brilliance, it was adorned with red garlands, and it caused fear even to (the celestial elephants) Airavata, Mahapadma, and Sarvabhauma.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जिसका अग्रभाग तेज से चमक रहा था, जो लाल मालाओं से सजी थी और जो ऐरावत, महापद्म तथा सार्वभौम जैसे (दिग्गजों) के लिए भी भय पैदा करने वाली थी।
English Commentary
The power of the mace is gauged by the fact that even the 'Diggajas' (world-supporting elephants) feared it. Red garlands symbolize the celebration of slaughter. This establishes Mahaparshva's indomitable ego and his massive striking power, presenting a renewed challenge to the Vanara host.
हिंदी टीका
गदा की शक्ति का आकलन इस बात से किया जा सकता है कि उससे दिग्गज (दिशाओं के रक्षक हाथी) भी डरते थे। लाल मालाएं संहार के उत्सव का प्रतीक हैं। यह महापार्श्व के अदम्य अहंकार और उसकी प्रचंड मारक क्षमता को स्थापित करता है, जिससे वानर सेना के लिए एक नई चुनौती खड़ी होती है।
