निपपात ततो मत्तो वज्राहत इवाचलः ।
विशीर्णनयने भूमौ गतसत्त्वे गतायुषि ॥६-७०-६४॥
nipapāta tato matto vajrāhata ivācalaḥ |
viśīrṇanayane bhūmau gatasattve gatāyuṣi ॥6-70-64॥
Translation
Then that frantic demon, with eyes shattered and his strength and life exhausted, fell to the ground like a mountain struck by a thunderbolt.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब वह उन्मत्त राक्षस, जिसकी आँखें फूट चुकी थीं, जिसका बल और आयु समाप्त हो चुकी थी, वज्र की चोट खाए हुए पर्वत के समान भूमि पर गिर पड़ा।
English Commentary
Comparing Mahaparshva's fall to a 'mountain struck by Vajra' denotes the finality of his enormous destruction. The term 'Gatayushi' indicates that Time had fully consumed him. Another chapter of unrighteousness concludes. This was a great achievement for the Vanara host, systematically eliminating Lanka's primary defenders.

महापार्श्व के पतन की तुलना 'वज्राहतः अचलः' (वज्र से गिरे पर्वत) से करना उसकी विशालता के अंतिम संहार को सूचित करता है। 'गतायुषि' शब्द यह बताता है कि काल ने अब उसे पूरी तरह ग्रस लिया था। अधर्म का एक और अध्याय यहाँ समाप्त हुआ। यह वानर सेना के लिए एक महान उपलब्धि थी, जिसने लंका के मुख्य रक्षकों को एक-एक कर समाप्त कर दिया।
