तलेन ताडयामास ततस्तस्य शिरः कपिः ।
तेन प्रताडितो वीरो राक्षसः पर्वतोपमः ॥६-७०-७३॥

English Commentary
Gavaksha chooses physical might ('Tala') over external weapons. The strike to the head ('Shira') was extremely precise. Jolting a mountain-like massive body with a single palm blow confirms the divine capability of the Vanara heroes. This was the decisive moment of the duel.

गवाक्ष ने बाह्य शस्त्रों के स्थान पर अपने बाहुबल 'तलेन' (हथेली) को चुना। मस्तक (शिरः) पर किया गया यह प्रहार अत्यंत सटीक था। पर्वत के समान विशाल शरीर को भी एक हथेली की चोट से हिला देना वानर वीरों के दिव्य सामर्थ्य को पुष्ट करता है। यह युद्ध का निर्णायक क्षण था।
