तस्मिन् महास्त्रे तु नियोज्यमाने सौमित्रिणा बाणवरे शिताग्रे ।
दिशश्च चन्द्रार्कमहाग्रहाश्च नभश्च तत्रास चचाल चोर्वी ॥६-७१-१०५॥
tasmin mahāstre tu niyojyamāne saumitriṇā bāṇavare śitāgre |
diśaśca candrārkamahāgrahāśca nabhaśca tatrāsa cacāla corvī ॥6-71-105॥
Translation
When that great weapon was being invoked by the son of Sumitra on that sharp-pointed excellent arrow, the directions, the moon, the sun, the great planets, and the sky were terrified, and the earth shook.
हिंदी अनुवाद
सुमित्रानंदन द्वारा उस तीखे अग्रभाग वाले श्रेष्ठ बाण पर उस महास्त्र (ब्रह्मास्त्र) का संधान किए जाने पर, दिशाएं, चन्द्रमा, सूर्य, बड़े ग्रह और आकाश भयभीत हो गए तथा पृथ्वी कांपने लगी।
English Commentary
The power of the Brahmastra is cosmic. Its mere invocation causes upheaval in nature. This signifies the weapon's catastrophic potential.

ब्रह्मास्त्र की शक्ति ब्रह्मांडीय स्तर की है। उसके संधान मात्र से प्रकृति में उथल-पुथल मच जाती है। यह उस अस्त्र की विनाशकारी क्षमता का परिचय है।
