नमागमे प्रेक्ष्य तदतिकायो बाणं प्रदीप्तान्तककालकल्पम् ।
जघान शक्त्यृष्टिगदाकुठारैः शूलैश्च लेशैश्चाप्यविपन्नचेताः ॥६-७१-१०९॥
tamāgataṃ prekṣya tadatikāyo bāṇaṃ pradīptāntakakālakalpam |
jaghāna śaktyṛṣṭigadākuṭhāraiḥ śūlaiśca leśaiścāpyavipannacetāḥ ॥6-71-109॥
Translation
Seeing that arrow arriving like blazing Death and Time, Atikaya, with an undaunted mind, struck it with Shakti, Rishti, mace, axe, and tridents.
हिंदी अनुवाद
प्रदीप्त यमराज और काल के समान उस बाण को आया देख, अतिकाय ने विचलित हुए बिना शक्ति, ऋष्टि, गदा, कुल्हाड़ी और शूलों से उस पर प्रहार किया।
English Commentary
Atikaya's courage ('avipannacetah') in the face of death is praiseworthy. He throws his entire arsenal at that single arrow.

मृत्यु के मुख में भी अतिकाय का साहस ('अविपन्नचेताः') प्रशंसनीय है। वह अपने सारे हथियार उस एक बाण पर आजमा लेता है।
