रक्तकण्ठगुणो धीरो महापर्वतसन्निभः ।
कालः कालमहावक्त्रो मेघस्थ इव भास्करः ॥६-७१-२२॥
raktakaṇṭhaguṇo dhīro mahāparvatasannibhaḥ |
kālaḥ kālamahāvaktro megastha iva bhāskaraḥ ॥6-71-22॥
Translation
With a red neck, firm/resolute, resembling a huge mountain, like Death, with a huge mouth like Death, he looks like the sun situated in a cloud.
हिंदी अनुवाद
लाल कंठ (गले) वाला, धीर, महापर्वत के समान, काल (मृत्यु) जैसा, काल के समान विशाल मुख वाला यह (राक्षस) मेघ में स्थित सूर्य की तरह लग रहा है।
English Commentary
A portrait of the warrior. 'Rakta-kantha' (red-necked) could be a physical feature or from wearing red ornaments. Comparing him to both Death ('Kala') and the Sun ('Bhaskara') captures his dual nature: destroying life while radiating glory.

अतिकाय का व्यक्तिगत विवरण। उसका गला लाल है, वह 'धीर' (गंभीर) है। वह 'काल' (मृत्यु) का साक्षात रूप है। काले रथ (मेघ) में बैठा वह सूर्य जैसा चमक रहा है। यह विरोधाभासी उपमाएं उसकी भयानक सुंदरता को चित्रित करती हैं।
