ते ऽर्दिता बाणवर्षेण भग्नगात्राः प्लवङ्गमाः ।
न शेकुरतिकायस्य प्रतिकर्तुं महारणे ॥६-७१-४२॥
te'rditā bāṇavarṣeṇa bhagnagātrāḥ plavaṅgamāḥ |
na śekuratikāyasya pratikartuṃ mahāraṇe ॥6-71-42॥
Translation
Tormented by the shower of arrows and with their bodies broken/wounded, those monkeys were unable to counter Atikaya in that great battle.
हिंदी अनुवाद
बाण वर्षा से पीड़ित और घायल अंगों वाले वे वानर उस महायुद्ध में अतिकाय का प्रतिकार (मुकाबला) करने में समर्थ न हो सके।
English Commentary
The generals are neutralized. Overwhelmed by the firepower, they cannot retaliate ('pratikartum'). This establishes Atikaya's superiority over conventional Vanara strength.

वानर सेनापतियों की हार। वे 'भग्नगात्राः' (टूटे अंगों वाले) हो गए और मुकाबला करने में असमर्थ ('न शेकुः') रहे। अतिकाय ने अकेले ही वानर सेना के शीर्ष नेतृत्व को निष्क्रिय कर दिया।
