ततोऽतिकायः कुपितश्चापमारोप्य सायकम् ।
लक्ष्मणाय प्रचिक्षेप संक्षिपन्निव चाम्बरम् ॥६-७१-६७॥
tato'tikāyaḥ kupitaścāpamāropya sāyakam |
lakṣmaṇāya pracikṣepa saṃkṣipanniva cāmbaram ॥6-71-67॥
Translation
Then the angry Atikaya, fixing an arrow on his bow, hurled it at Lakshmana as if shrinking the sky (with its speed/size).
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब कुपित अतिकाय ने धनुष पर बाण चढ़ाकर, मानो आकाश को सिकोड़ते हुए (छोटा करते हुए/तीव्र वेग से), लक्ष्मण पर छोड़ दिया।
English Commentary
The strike. The metaphor 'shrinking the sky' suggests the arrow consumed the space between them instantly or was of massive size. It illustrates the supernatural power behind the shot.

अतिकाय का पहला प्रहार। 'संक्षिपन्निव चाम्बरम्' (आकाश को सिकोड़ते हुए) एक अद्भुत उपमा है, जो बाण की गति या आकार को दर्शाती है—वह इतना विशाल/तेज था कि आकाश छोटा लगने लगा।
