ते तस्य रूपमालोक्य यथा विष्णोस्त्रिविक्रमे ।
भयाद्वानरयूथास्ते विद्रवन्ति ततस्ततः ॥६-७१-८॥
te tasya rūpamālokya yathā viṣṇostrivikrame |
bhayādvānarayūthāste vidravanti tatastataḥ ॥6-71-8॥
Translation
Seeing his form like that of Vishnu during his Trivikrama incarnation, those monkey troops fled hither and thither out of fear.
हिंदी अनुवाद
विष्णु के त्रिविक्रम (वामन) अवतार के समय के रूप की भाँति उसके रूप को देखकर, वे वानर यूथ (झुंड) भय के कारण इधर-उधर भागने लगे।
English Commentary
Another comparison to Vishnu's Trivikrama form (Vamana avatar spanning the universe). This implies Atikaya's form was not just big, but cosmically imposing. The terror is absolute, scattering the army ('vidravanti') in all directions.
हिंदी टीका
पुनः एक दिव्य उपमा। अतिकाय का रूप 'विष्णोस्त्रिविक्रमे' (विष्णु के विराट रूप) जैसा लग रहा था। यह उपमा राक्षस की भव्यता को बढ़ाती है। वानरों में भगदड़ ('विद्रवन्ति') मच गई। वे उसका सामना करने के बजाय भागना ही श्रेयस्कर समझ रहे थे।
