ततोऽतिकायः संक्रुद्धस्त्वैषीकमृत्सृजत् ।
तत् प्रचिच्छेद सौमित्रिरैन्द्रेण वीर्यवान् ॥६-७१-९१॥
tato'tikāyaḥ saṃkruddhastvaiṣīkamṛtsṛjat |
tat praciccheda saumitriraindreṇa vīryavān ॥6-71-91॥
Translation
Then the enraged Atikaya released the 'Aishika' weapon. But the valiant son of Sumitra cut it down with the 'Aindra' (Indra's) weapon.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब संक्रुद्ध अतिकाय ने 'ऐषीक' अस्त्र छोड़ा। (किंतु) वीर्यवान सुमित्रानंदन ने उसे 'ऐन्द्र' (इन्द्र के) अस्त्र से काट दिया।
English Commentary
Aishika is a rare weapon (related to reed/cane). Lakshmana countered it with Indra's weapon. This shows Lakshmana's quick thinking and knowledge of counter-measures.

ऐषीक एक दुर्लभ अस्त्र है (जो सरकंडे/ईख से संबंधित है)। लक्ष्मण जी ने इन्द्र के अस्त्र से उसका तोड़ निकाला। यह लक्ष्मण जी की प्रत्युत्पन्नमति (quick thinking) को दिखाता है।
