ततः स सन्दीपितकोपवह्निर्निशाचराणामधिपो महाबलः ।
तदेव पुत्रव्यसनं विचिन्तयन् मुहुर्मुहुश्चैव तदा व्यनिश्वसत् ॥६-७२-१९॥
tataḥ sa sandīpitakopavahnirniśācarāṇāmadhipo mahābalaḥ |
tadeva putravyasanaṃ vicintayan muhurmuhuścaiva tadā vyanisvasat ॥6-72-19॥
Translation
Then that mighty Lord of the night-stalkers, with the fire of his anger further inflamed, sighed repeatedly while constantly thinking about the calamity (death) of his son.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब क्रोध की अग्नि से प्रज्वलित वे महाबली राक्षसाधिपति, अपने पुत्र के उस विनाश (वध) के विषय में बार-बार सोचते हुए लंबी-लंबी सांसें लेने लगे।
English Commentary
This final and deeply emotional verse of the sarga depicts the conflict between Ravana's 'Kopa-vahni' (fire of rage) and 'Putra-vyasana' (grief for his son). His repeated heavy sighing ('Vyanisvasat') reveals his profound agitation and helplessness. At this moment, he appears less like a demonic king and more like a mourning father. This sorrow will drive him toward even more catastrophic decisions hereafter.

यह सर्ग का अंतिम और अत्यंत भावुक श्लोक है। रावण की 'क्रोध-अग्नि' और 'पुत्र-व्यसन' (पुत्र का शोक) का द्वंद्व उसके मानसिक संताप को दर्शा रहा है। बार-बार लंबी सांसें लेना (व्यनिःश्वसत्) उसकी गहरी व्याकुलता और असहाय अवस्था को प्रकट करता है। यहाँ वह एक असुर राजा कम और एक शोकाकुल पिता अधिक दिखाई दे रहा है। यह दुःख ही उसे अगले और भी अधिक विनाशकारी निर्णयों की ओर ले जाएगा।
