अन्ये च बहवः शूरा महात्मानो निपातिताः ।
प्रख्यातबलवीर्येण पुत्रेणेन्द्रजिता मम ॥६-७२-५॥
anye ca bahavaḥ śūrā mahātmāno nipātitāḥ |
prakhyātabalavīryeṇa putreṇendrajitā mama ॥6-72-5॥

Many other great-souled heroes who were struck down (bound) by my son Indrajit, who is renowned for his strength and prowess—

English Commentary
Ravana recalls Indrajit's success when he bound Shri Rama and Shri Lakshmana with the Naga-pasha. He takes pride in his son's power, yet this joy has turned into anxiety because the enemies assumed to be dead are now alive and active. This verse illustrates the conflict between hope and despair within the leadership of Lanka.

रावण यहाँ इन्द्रजित की उस सफलता को याद कर रहा है जब उसने नागपाश के द्वारा श्री राम और श्री लक्ष्मण को बंदी बना लिया था। वह इन्द्रजित के बल पर गर्व कर रहा है, किन्तु उसकी यह प्रसन्नता अब चिन्ता में बदल चुकी है क्योंकि वे शत्रु जिन्हें मरा हुआ मान लिया गया था, वे पुनः जीवित और सक्रिय हैं। यह श्लोक लंका की आशा और हताशा के बीच के द्वंद्व को दर्शाता है।
