यौ हि तौ भ्रातरौ वीरौ बद्धौ दत्तवरैः शरैः ।
यन्न शक्यं सुरैः सर्वैरसुरैर्वा महाबलैः ॥६-७२-६॥
yau hi tau bhrātarau vīrau baddhau dattavaraiḥ śaraiḥ |
yanna śakyaṃ suraiḥ sarvairasurairvā mahābalaiḥ ॥6-72-6॥
Translation
Those two heroic brothers (Shri Rama and Lakshmana) were bound by arrows obtained through boons, a bond that was impossible to break even for all the Gods or mighty Asuras.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वे दोनों वीर भाई (श्री राम और लक्ष्मण) जिन वरदान प्राप्त बाणों से बांधे गए थे, उन्हें मुक्त करना समस्त देवताओं और महाबली असुरों के लिए भी संभव नहीं था।
English Commentary
The Naga-pasha was no ordinary bond; it was empowered by the boons of Lord Brahma. Ravana's confusion stems from how these forest-dwellers overcame a bond that no force in the three worlds could break. It depicts the limits of Adharma, which exploits divine gifts but ultimately fails against the absolute power of Truth.

नागपाश कोई साधारण बंधन नहीं था। वह ब्रह्मा जी के वरदानों से सिद्ध था। रावण की उलझन यही है कि जो बंधन त्रिलोकी की किसी भी शक्ति द्वारा नहीं खोला जा सकता था, उसे इन वनवासियों ने कैसे पार कर लिया। यह अधर्म की उन सीमाओं का वर्णन है जहाँ वह दैवीय शक्तियों का दुरुपयोग तो करता है, किन्तु सत्य के अमोघ प्रभाव के सामने अंततः विफल हो जाता है।
