Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
मोक्तुं तद्बन्धनं घोरं यक्षगन्धर्वकिन्नरैः ।
तन्न जाने प्रभावैर्वा मायया मोहनेन वा ॥६-७२-७॥
moktuṃ tadbandhanaṃ ghoraṃ yakṣagandharvakinnaraiḥ |
tanna jāne prabhāvairvā māyayā mohanena vā ॥6-72-7॥
Translation
Even Yakshas, Gandharvas, and Kinnaras could not have released that terrible bond. I do not know whether they freed themselves through their own power, through illusion, or through some hypnotizing magic.
हिंदी अनुवाद
यक्षों, गन्धर्वों और किन्नरों द्वारा भी उस घोर बन्धन को काटना अशक्य था। मैं नहीं जानता कि उन्होंने अपने प्रभाव से, माया से या किसी सम्मोहन विद्या से उसे कैसे खोल दिया।
English Commentary
Ravana's intellect is clouded. He mistakes Shri Rama's divine radiance for mere 'Maya' (illusion) or 'Mohana' (magic). From his demonic perspective, he cannot grasp that the power of Truth and Dharma transcends any illusory bondage. This ignorance is a primary driver of his downfall, as he remains unable to recognize the true nature of his adversary.

रावण की बुद्धि यहाँ भ्रमित है। वह श्री राम के ईश्वरीय तेज को 'माया' या 'मोहनी विद्या' समझने की भूल कर रहा है। वह अपनी असुर बुद्धि से यह स्वीकार नहीं कर पा रहा कि सत्य और धर्म का बल किसी भी मायावी बंधन से ऊपर होता है। उसकी यह अनभिज्ञता उसके पतन का मुख्य कारण है, क्योंकि वह शत्रु के वास्तविक स्वरूप को पहचानने में असमर्थ है।
