शरबन्धाद्विमुक्तौ तौ भ्रातरौ रामलक्ष्मणौ ।
ये योधा निर्गताः शूरा राक्षसा मम शासनात् ॥६-७२-८॥
śarabandhādvimuktau tau bhrātarau rāmalakṣmaṇau |
ye yodhā nirgatāḥ śūrā rākṣasā mama śāsanāt ॥6-72-8॥
Translation
Those two brothers, Shri Rama and Lakshmana, have been released from the bond of arrows. All those heroic Rakshasa warriors who marched out under my command—

वे दोनों भाई श्री राम और लक्ष्मण बाणों के बन्धन से मुक्त हो गए हैं। मेरी आज्ञा से जो भी शूरवीर राक्षस युद्ध के लिए बाहर निकले—
English Commentary
Ravana is now accounting for his failures. Every move he has made—be it Indrajit's sorcery or the assault of his vast army—has proved fruitless. Using 'Mama Shasanat' (by my command) reflects his lingering ego as he still views himself as the omnipotent lord of Lanka, even as the warriors who execute his commands dwindle in number.

रावण अब अपनी विफलता का लेखा-जोखा कर रहा है। उसने अब तक जो भी चालें चलीं—चाहे वह इन्द्रजित की माया हो या उसकी विशाल सेना का प्रहार—वे सब निष्फल हो चुकी हैं। 'मम शासनात्' (मेरी आज्ञा से) कहना उसके उस अहंकार को दर्शाता है जहाँ वह अब भी स्वयं को लंका का सर्वशक्तिमान अधिपति मानता है, भले ही उसकी आज्ञा पालन करने वाले योद्धा कम होते जा रहे हैं।
