रोमजं वालजं चर्म व्याघ्रजं चाण्डजं बहु ।
मुक्तामणिविचित्रांश्च प्रासादांश्च समन्ततः ॥६-७५-१२॥
romajaṃ vālajaṃ carma vyāghrajaṃ cāṇḍajaṃ bahu |
muktāmaṇivicitrāṃśca prāsādāṃśca samantataḥ ॥6-75-12॥
Translation
Items made of sheep's wool, animal tail-hair, tiger skins, and numerous bird-feathered articles, along with palaces encrusted with pearls and gems, were burning everywhere.

भेड़ के बालों, पशुओं की पूँछ के बालों, बाघ की खाल और पक्षियों के पंखों से बनी वस्तुएं तथा मोतियों और मणियों से जड़े हुए महल चारों ओर जल रहे थे।
English Commentary
The rare and luxurious materials used by the Rakshasas are described here. Using tiger skins and bird feathers reflects their predatory and Tamasic nature. The burning of 'Vicitran Prasaadan' (wonderful palaces) depicts the collapse of the peak of art and ego that was not built on the foundation of Dharma. The fire completely swallowed the external beauty of Lanka.

राक्षसों द्वारा प्रयुक्त दुर्लभ और विलासी सामग्रियों का यहाँ वर्णन है। बाघ की खाल और पक्षियों के पंखों का उपयोग उनके शिकारी और तामसिक स्वभाव को दर्शाता है। 'विचित्रान् प्रासादान्' (अद्भुत महल) का जलना मानवीय कला और अहंकार के उस शिखर के ढहने का दृश्य है जो धर्म की नींव पर नहीं खड़ा था। अग्नि ने लंका के बाह्य सौंदर्य को पूरी तरह ग्रस लिया था।
