विविधानस्त्रसंयोगानग्निर्दहति तत्र वै ।
नानाविधान् गृहच्छन्दान् ददाह हुतभूक् तदा ॥६-७५-१३॥
vividhānastrasaṃyogānagnirdahati tatra vai |
nānāvidhān gṛhacchandān dadāha hutabhūk tadā ॥6-75-13॥
Translation
The fire was indeed consuming various collections of missiles there, and at that time, it burned the diverse roofing and structures of the houses.

अग्नि वहाँ विविध प्रकार के अस्त्रों के समूहों को और घरों की अनेक प्रकार की छतों तथा ढांचों को भस्म कर रही थी।
English Commentary
Here, the fire acts as Time personified. 'Astrasamyogan' refers to the stockpiles of missiles; when an armory burns, it uproots the capacity for war. The incineration of roofs and structures ('Grihacchandan') signals the loss of secure shelter. The Rakshasas were left with neither sufficient weapons to fight nor safe places to hide.

यहाँ अग्नि का स्वरूप साक्षात् काल के समान है। 'अस्त्रसंयोगान्' का अर्थ है जहाँ अस्त्रों का भंडार था। जब अस्त्र भंडार जलता है, तो वह युद्ध की क्षमता को जड़ से समाप्त कर देता है। छतों और ढांचों (गृहच्छन्दान्) का जलना लंका के सुरक्षित आश्रय के समाप्त होने का संकेत है। अब राक्षसों के पास न तो लड़ने के लिए पर्याप्त अस्त्र थे और न ही छिपने के लिए सुरक्षित स्थान।
