ये ये महाबलाः सन्ति लघवश्च प्लवङ्गमाः ।
लङ्कामभ्युत्पतन्त्वाशु गृह्योल्काः प्लवगर्षभाः ॥६-७५-३॥
ye ye mahābalāḥ santi laghavaśca plavaṅgamāḥ |
laṅkāmabhyutpatantvāśu gṛhyolkāḥ plavagarṣabhāḥ ॥6-75-3॥
Translation
Let those foremost monkeys who are exceedingly powerful and swift-footed quickly leap toward Lanka, carrying torches in their hands.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जो-जो वानर अत्यंत बलवान और तीव्र गति वाले हैं, वे श्रेष्ठ वानर हाथों में जलती हुई मशालें लेकर शीघ्र ही लंका की ओर प्रस्थान करें।
English Commentary
Sugriva adopts a scorched-earth or psychological warfare tactic here. He intends to cause chaos within the enemy's stronghold by setting Lanka on fire. The command to carry torches ('Ulka') ensures that the attack targets the enemy's infrastructure and resources. The agility and strength of the Vanaras are strategically employed to dismantle the physical grandeur of Lanka, signaling its imminent downfall.
हिंदी टीका
सुग्रीव जी यहाँ 'गुरिल्ला युद्ध' की पद्धति अपना रहे हैं। वे लंका में अग्नि लगाकर शत्रु के गढ़ में हाहाकार मचाना चाहते हैं। मशालें (उल्का) लेकर आक्रमण करने का आदेश यह सुनिश्चित करता है कि युद्ध केवल शारीरिक न रहकर शत्रु की संपत्ति और रसद को नष्ट करने वाला भी हो। वानरों की चपलता और शक्ति का उपयोग यहाँ लंका के भौतिक गौरव को धूल में मिलाने के लिए किया जा रहा है।
