English Commentary
The sound traveling ten yojanas is a measure of the destruction's ferocity. The phrase 'Pradagdhakayan' (with burnt bodies) indicates the pathetic state of the Rakshasas. Those who considered themselves invincible were now fleeing in a scorched state merely to survive. This scene proves that demonic power is helpless before natural (and divine) catastrophe.

दस योजन की दूरी तक शोर का सुनाई देना विनाश की प्रचंडता का पैमाना है। 'प्रदग्धकायान' (जले हुए शरीर वाले) शब्द राक्षसों की दयनीय अवस्था को सूचित करते हैं। जो राक्षस स्वयं को अजेय समझते थे, वे आज प्राण बचाने के लिए झुलसी हुई अवस्था में भाग रहे थे। यह दृश्य सिद्ध करता है कि प्राकृतिक आपदा के सामने असुर शक्ति भी असहाय है।
