ज्याशब्दश्चापि रामस्य त्रयं व्याप दिशो दश ।
तस्य कार्मुकमुक्तैश्च शरैस्तत्पुरगोपुरम् ॥६-७५-३८॥
jyāśabdaścāpi rāmasya trayaṃ vyāpa diśo daśa |
tasya kārmukamuktaiśca śaraīstatpuragopuram ॥6-75-38॥
Translation
The sound of Shri Rama's bowstring spread across the three worlds and all ten directions. By the arrows released from His bow, the gate-towers of that city—

श्री राम के धनुष की टंकार उन तीनों लोकों और दसों दिशाओं में व्याप्त हो गई। उनके धनुष से छोड़े गए बाणों ने उस नगरी के द्वारों (गोपुर) को—
English Commentary
The sound of the bowstring pervading all ten directions signifies Shri Rama's universal glory. He now strikes at Lanka's defensive structures from a distance. The 'Gopura' (gate-towers) are the primary pillars of any city's security. Shri Rama targets them directly to disable the city's entry and exit points.
हिंदी टीका
धनुष की ध्वनि का 'दसों दिशाओं' में व्याप्त होना श्री राम के सार्वभौमिक प्रताप का सूचक है। अब श्री राम दूर से ही लंका की रक्षात्मक संरचनाओं पर प्रहार कर रहे हैं। 'गोपुर' (द्वार) किसी भी नगर की सुरक्षा के मुख्य स्तंभ होते हैं। श्री राम का निशाना सीधे उन्हीं स्तंभों पर है, जो लंका के प्रवेश को अवरुद्ध करने के लिए था।
