शर्वरी राक्षसेन्द्राणां रौद्रीव समपद्यत ।
आदिष्टा वानरेन्द्रास्तु सुग्रीवेण महात्मना ॥६-७५-४१॥
śarvarī rākṣasendrāṇāṃ raudrīva samapadyata |
ādiṣṭā vānarendrāstu sugrīveṇa mahātmanā ॥6-75-41॥
Translation
That night became like the fierce time of destruction for the Rakshasa chiefs. Then, the high-souled Sugriva issued orders to the monkey commanders.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह रात्रि राक्षसराजों के लिए साक्षात् रौद्र (भयानक) काल के समान हो गई। तब महात्मा सुग्रीव ने वानर सेनापतियों को आज्ञा दी।
English Commentary
The night, usually an ally to the Rakshasas, had now turned into their enemy ('Raudri'). Sugriva, as a skilled commander, capitalizes on the situation. He observed that Shri Rama's arrows had destabilized the foe, and thus he planned a decisive assault. This 'Night of Doom' signaled the approaching end of Lanka.

रात्रि, जो राक्षसों की मित्र थी, आज उनकी शत्रु (रौद्र) बन गई है। सुग्रीव जी यहाँ एक कुशल सेनापति के रूप में स्थिति का लाभ उठा रहे हैं। उन्होंने देखा कि श्री राम के बाणों ने शत्रुओं को विचलित कर दिया है, अतः वे अब निर्णायक आक्रमण की योजना बना रहे हैं। यह 'काल-रात्रि' लंका के अंत की सूचना दे रही थी।
