भाभिः संसक्तपातालश्चलोर्मिः शुशुबे ऽधिकम् ।
पताकाध्वजसंसक्तमुत्तमासिपरश्वधम् ॥६-७५-५३॥
bhābhiḥ saṃsaktapātālaścalormiḥ śuśube 'dhikam |
patākādhvajasaṃsaktamuttamāsiparaśvadham ॥6-75-53॥
Translation
Appeared, illuminating even the subterranean regions (Patala), and the ocean with its moving waves shone intensely. That army was equipped with banners, flags, excellent swords, and battle-axes.

दिखाई देने लगा, जिससे पाताल तक प्रकाशित हो गया और चंचल लहरों वाला वह समुद्र अत्यंत सुशोभित हुआ। वह सेना पताकाओं, ध्वजाओं, श्रेष्ठ तलवारों और फरसों से युक्त थी।
English Commentary
The light of the fire was so intense it seemed to reach 'Patala' (the underworld), a poetic exaggeration denoting the depth of destruction. The 'Pataka' (banners) and 'Dhvaja' (flags) of the Rakshasa army were symbols of their sovereign power. The mention of swords and axes points to the impending brutality. It is a visual of Lanka's final military mobilization.

अग्नि का प्रकाश इतना तीव्र था कि वह 'पाताल' तक पहुँचता सा लग रहा था। यह एक काव्योक्ति है जो विनाश की गहराई को बताती है। राक्षसी सेना के 'पताका' और 'ध्वज' उनकी राजकीय शक्ति का प्रतीक थे। तलवारों और फरसों का उल्लेख युद्ध की भीषणता की ओर संकेत करता है। यहाँ लंका के अंतिम सैन्य संचलन का चित्र है।
