भीमाश्वरथमातङ्गं नानापत्तिसमाकुलम् ।
दीप्तशूलगदाखड्गप्रासतोमरकार्मुकम् ॥६-७५-५४॥
bhīmāśvarathamātaṅgaṃ nānāpattisamākulam |
dīptaśūlagadākhaḍgaprāsatomarakārmukam ॥6-75-54॥
Translation
That army consisted of terrifying horses, chariots, and elephants, and was crowded with various kinds of infantry. They carried shining spears, maces, swords, lances, javelins, and bows.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह सेना भयंकर घोड़ों, रथों और हाथियों से युक्त तथा अनेक प्रकार के पैदल सैनिकों से भरी थी। उनके पास चमकते हुए शूल, गदा, तलवार, प्रास, तोमर और धनुष थे।
English Commentary
The 'fourfold' structure of the Rakshasa army is described here with full terror. The epithet 'Bhima' (terrifying) confirms their lethal capacity. This long list of weapons showcases Lanka's martial wealth. Ravana had poured his entire strength into this final night-battle. For the Vanaras, it was a fight of torches against forged steel.

राक्षसी सेना का 'चतुरंगिणी' स्वरूप यहाँ पूरी भयावहता के साथ वर्णित है। 'भीम' (भयंकर) विशेषण उनकी मारक क्षमता को पुष्ट करता है। शस्त्रों की यह लंबी सूची लंका की सामरिक संपन्नता को दिखाती है। रावण ने अपनी पूरी ताकत इस अंतिम रात्रिकालीन युद्ध में झोंक दी थी। वानरों के लिए यह मशालों के विरुद्ध अस्त्रों की लड़ाई थी।
