गोपुराट्टप्रतोलीषु चर्यासु विविधासु च ।
प्रासादेषु च संहृष्टाः ससृजुस्ते हुताशनम् ॥६-७५-६॥
gopurāṭṭapratolīṣu caryāsu vividhāsu ca |
prāsādeṣu ca saṃhṛṣṭāḥ sasṛjuste hutāśanam ॥6-75-6॥
Translation
Those jubilant monkeys set fire to the gate-towers, attics, squares, various streets, and the lofty palaces of the city.

उन अत्यंत प्रसन्न वानरों ने नगर के द्वारों, अटारियों, चौराहों, विभिन्न गलियों और ऊंचे महलों में अग्नि लगा दी।
English Commentary
The spread of fire to every nook and corner of Lanka signifies the Vanaras' complete dominance. They reached the very heart of the city—its palaces and squares. The word 'Samhrishtah' reveals the joy they felt in dismantling the fortress of unrighteousness. This scene depicts the literal incineration of Lanka's material pride.
