Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
घ्नन्तमन्यं जघानान्यः पातयन्तमपातयत् ।
गर्हमाणं जगर्हे ऽन्यो दशन्तमपरो ऽदशत् ॥६-७५-६६॥
ghnantamanyam jaghānānyaḥ pātayantamapātayat |
garhamāṇam jagarhē 'nyo daśantamaparō 'daśat ॥6-75-66॥
Translation
There, one struck another who was striking, one threw down another who was throwing down; one reviled another who was reviling, and one bit another who was biting.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वहाँ एक-दूसरे को मारते हुए, गिराते हुए, निंदा करते हुए और एक-दूसरे को दांतों से काटते हुए योद्धा भिड़ रहे थे।
English Commentary
This verse is a marvelous depiction of the chaos and complexity of individual duels. This cycle of 'action-reaction' illustrates the intensity of the war. Not just physical force, but rage and hatred were also on display. It is a situation where every warrior became a mirror of his opponent's aggression.

यह श्लोक द्वंद्व युद्ध के कोलाहल और उसकी जटिलता का अद्भुत चित्रण है। 'क्रिया-प्रतिक्रिया' का यह चक्र युद्ध की तीव्रता को दर्शाता है। यहाँ केवल शारीरिक बल नहीं, बल्कि क्रोध और घृणा का भी प्रदर्शन हो रहा था। यह एक ऐसी स्थिति है जहाँ हर योद्धा अपने प्रतिद्वंद्वी का दर्पण बना हुआ था।
