राक्षसान् दश सप्तेति वानराश्चाभ्यपातयन् ।
विस्रस्तकेशवसनं विध्वस्तकवचध्वजम् ॥६-७५-७०॥
rākṣasān daśa saptaiti vānarāścābhyapātayan |
visrastakeśavasanaṃ vidhvastakavacadhvajam ॥6-75-70॥
Translation
Likewise, the monkeys also struck down Rakshasas in groups of ten and seven. With hair and garments disheveled, and with armor and banners destroyed—

वैसे ही वानर भी दस और सात की संख्या में राक्षसों को मार रहे थे। बिखरे हुए बालों और वस्त्रों वाले, टूटे हुए कवच और ध्वजाओं वाले—
English Commentary
The Vanaras' retaliation was equally swift. They were also felling Rakshasas in groups. The phrase 'Vidvasta-kavaca-dhvajam' denotes the total collapse of Lanka's state authority and personal protection. The dishevelment of hair and clothes indicates their wretched condition.

वानरों का प्रतिशोध भी उतना ही तीव्र था। वे भी राक्षसों को समूहों में धराशायी कर रहे थे। 'विध्वस्त-कवच-ध्वजम्' शब्द लंका की राजकीय सत्ता और व्यक्तिगत सुरक्षा के पूर्ण पतन को सूचित करते हैं। बाल और वस्त्र का अस्त-व्यस्त होना उनकी दयनीय अवस्था का परिचायक है।
