अगरुर्दह्यते तत्र वर च हरिचन्दनम् ।
मौक्तिका मणयः स्निग्धा वज्रं चापि प्रवालकम् ॥६-७५-८॥
agarurdahyate tatra varaṃ ca haricandanam |
mauktikā maṇayaḥ snigdhā vajraṃ cāpi pravālakam ॥6-75-8॥
Translation
Excellent aloe-wood, divine sandalwood, lustrous pearls, gems, precious diamonds, and corals were being consumed by the fire there.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वहाँ श्रेष्ठ अगरु, दिव्य हरिचन्दन, चमकते हुए मोती, मणियाँ, श्रेष्ठ वज्र (हीरे) और मूंगे अग्नि की भेंट चढ़ रहे थे।
English Commentary
The incomparable wealth of Lanka is being reduced to ashes. The fragrance of aloe and sandalwood is replaced by the smoke of destruction. Even priceless gems like pearls and diamonds could not survive the heat. This verse teaches a lesson on the impermanence of material wealth—riches accumulated through unrighteousness are futile in the end and are reclaimed by nature's elements.
हिंदी टीका
लंका का अतुलनीय ऐश्वर्य यहाँ अग्नि में भस्म हो रहा है। अगरु और चन्दन की सुगंध के स्थान पर अब जलने का धुआँ व्याप्त है। मोती और हीरों जैसे अमूल्य रत्न भी अग्नि के ताप से नहीं बच सके। यह श्लोक संसार की नश्वरता का पाठ पढ़ाता है—अधर्म के द्वारा संचित किया गया धन अंततः किसी काम नहीं आता और प्रकृति उसे अपने भीतर विलीन कर लेती है।
