क्षौमं च दह्यते तत्र कौशेयं चापि शोभनम् ।
आविकं विविधं चौर्णं काञ्चनं भाण्डमायुधम् ॥६-७५-९॥
kṣaimaṃ ca dahyate tatra kauśeyaṃ cāpi śobhanam |
āvikaṃ vividhaṃ caurṇaṃ kāñcanaṃ bhāṇḍamāyudham ॥6-75-9॥
Translation
Beautiful linen and silk garments, woolen blankets, various kinds of wool-made clothes, golden vessels, and weapons were burning there.

वहाँ सुंदर रेशमी और सूती वस्त्र, भेड़ की ऊन के कम्बल, अनेक प्रकार के ऊनी वस्त्र, सुवर्ण के पात्र और शस्त्र जल रहे थे।
English Commentary
The destruction of the symbols of the Rakshasas' luxurious lifestyle is depicted here. Silk ('Kausheya') and golden vessels were markers of their extreme opulence. The burning of weapons signifies the erosion of their military capability. The fire made no distinction between soft garments and hard weapons, illustrating the comprehensive downfall of Lanka.

राक्षसों की विलासी जीवनशैली के प्रतीकों का विनाश यहाँ चित्रित है। कौशेय (रेशम) और स्वर्ण पात्र उनके अति-ऐश्वर्य के सूचक थे। शस्त्रों का जलना उनकी सैन्य शक्ति के आधार को नष्ट होने का संकेत है। अग्नि किसी में भेद नहीं कर रही थी—चाहे वह कोमल वस्त्र हो या कठोर शस्त्र। यह लंका के सर्वांगीण पतन का दृश्य है।
