Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
आयसीं तु गदां वीरः प्रगृह्य कनकाङ्गदः ।
शोणिताक्षः समाविध्य तमेवानुपपात ह ॥६-७६-१२॥
āyasīṃ tu gadāṃ vīraḥ pragṛhya kanakāṅgadaḥ |
śoṇitākṣaḥ samāvidhya tamevānupapāta ha ॥6-76-12॥
Translation
The heroic Shonitaksha, wearing golden armlets, then took up an iron mace and, brandishing it, rushed after Angada.
हिंदी अनुवाद
सुवर्ण के बाजुबंदों वाले वीर शोणिताक्ष ने तब लोहे की गदा उठा ली और उसे घुमाकर अंगद के पीछे ही दौड़ पड़ा।
English Commentary
This depicts the continuity of the struggle. Although Shonitaksha was severely wounded, he rose again and attacked Angada with his mace. Brandishing ('Samavidhya') the mace was his way of generating force for a final impact, illustrating the incredible vitality of the Rakshasas.
हिंदी टीका
यहाँ युद्ध की निरंतरता का वर्णन है। यद्यपि शोणिताक्ष को गम्भीर चोट लगी थी, किन्तु वह पुनः उठ खड़ा हुआ और अपनी गदा के साथ अंगद पर आक्रमण करने बढ़ा। 'समाविध्य' (घुमाकर) गदा का प्रहार करना उसकी शक्ति के प्रदर्शन का तरीका था। यह राक्षसों की अदम्य प्राण-शक्ति को दर्शाता है।
