Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अभिपेतुर्महाकायाः प्रतियत्ता महाबलाः ।
राक्षसा वानरान् रोषादसिचर्मगदाधराः ॥६-७६-१६॥
abhipe turmahākāyāḥ pratiyattā mahābalāḥ |
rākṣasā vānarān roṣādasicar magadādharāḥ ॥6-76-16॥
Translation
Armed with swords, shields, and maces, the massive and mighty Rakshasas, fully prepared and filled with rage, pounced upon the monkeys.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तलवार, ढाल और गदा धारण किए हुए विशालकाय और महाबली राक्षस क्रोध में भरकर पूरी तैयारी के साथ वानरों पर टूट पड़े।
English Commentary
The 'Pratiyattah' (full preparedness) of the Rakshasa force and their heavy weaponry are described. They were not just strong but also well-equipped. The mention of swords, shields, and maces highlights their both offensive and defensive postures. The duel was now escalating into widespread slaughter.

राक्षसी सेना की 'प्रतियत्ता' (पूर्ण तैयारी) और उनके भारी अस्त्रों का यहाँ वर्णन है। वे केवल बलवान ही नहीं थे, बल्कि हथियारों से भी सुसज्जित थे। तलवार (असि), चर्म (ढाल) और गदा का उल्लेख उनके आक्रामक और रक्षात्मक दोनों रूपों को दर्शाता है। यह द्वंद्व अब एक व्यापक संहार में बदल रहा था।
