स यूपाक्षो ऽश्रुपूर्णाक्षः पितृव्ये निहते रणे ।
अवरुह्य रथात् क्षिप्रं क्षीणेषुः खड्गमाददे ॥६-७६-२७॥
sa yūpākṣo 'śrupūrṇākṣaḥ pitṛvye nihate raṇe |
avaruhya rathāt kṣipraṃ kṣīṇeṣuḥ khaḍgamādade ॥6-76-27॥
Translation
Seeing his paternal uncle (Prajangha) slain in battle, Yupaksha, with eyes full of tears and his arrows exhausted, quickly got down from his chariot and took up a sword.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अपने चाचा (प्रजंघ) को युद्ध में मारा गया देख, आंसुओं से भरी आँखों वाले यूपाक्ष ने बाणों के समाप्त होने पर तुरंत रथ से उतरकर तलवार उठा ली।
English Commentary
The depiction of human-like emotions within Rakshasas is shown here. Yupaksha's grief over his 'Pitrivya' (uncle) reflects strong familial ties. Despite exhausting his arrows, he did not concede but descended for sword combat, illustrating a 'do or die' resolve.

यहाँ राक्षसों के भीतर भी मानवीय संवेदनाओं का चित्रण है। अपने 'पितृव्य' (चाचा) की मृत्यु पर यूपाक्ष का दुखी होना उसके पारिवारिक जुड़ाव को दिखाता है। बाणों के समाप्त होने (क्षीणेष्ाुः) पर भी उसने हार नहीं मानी और खड्ग-युद्ध के लिए भूमि पर उतरा। यह उसके 'करो या मरो' के संकल्प का परिचायक है।
